16 October 2013- Knotting

Blue Six chose to play Red Rover. Took us awhile to negotiate all the rules!

This was a hsitoric Grand Howl. 23 Cubs -the highest in 4 years.

The nest game was a new one called Postmen and Robbers.
We then went inside to do some Knotting which got so busy I didnt manage to take any photos.

Finally it is lighter and drier so we can play out on the lawn again!

The Red Six chose to play Stuck in the Mud

Then a quick round of Fires and Flames int he hall

And we learnt the correct way to strike a match.
A quick relay game to practice

We were taught how to build a fire..

and then got to build real fires outside.

Soon we had 4 roaring fires going...

11 September 2013 -Fun meeting

Today was a fun meeting so we came in civvies and could try out 3 activities.

We learnt about slack lining and were shown a few tricks..

...before trying it out ourselves.

There was a chance to take on the climbing wall...

And learn how to bake a cake in an orange.

Marshmallows remain the favourite...

And we CAN all apparently toast them at once.
Happy Holidays everyone!

healthy living

We started with a game of Eyeball....finally we could play outside again after WEEKS of rain...

Then we had to see how many things we could find that could fit in a matchbox...

Quite a lot!
After learning about healthy hand hygiene

we have lots of fun making Mr Grassheads.

28 August 2013 -Trails

This was such a busy meeting that I had very lttle time to take pictures!
We revsied out Trail Signs this week, and while the Leopards and lions built a trail in the hall, the others amde matchstick signs.

This is what the trail looked like with a torch..

and this is what they had to negotiate in the dark!

14 August 2014: Conservation

We started with a good game of Bucket Ball..

Then had to solve some Energy Conservation puzzles. Way too easy -the Cubs worked this out in no time.

Some got a little muddy running across the soaked field

We then tried folding paper aeroplanes...

and seeing whose could go the furthest.

It was more fun making planes out of biscuits though.

We finished with some miming -Guess What I am Doing with the Box?
